Earlier this year I was "retired" after thirty years working in the area of environmental policy and sustainable development. Following my retirement I loaded up my panniers and took off on my bike, hoping that I might figure out what I wanted to do during my retirement years, riding from San Diego to St. Augustine over 59 days. Not done yet, I rode self-contained through Wyoming and Montana, cycling through the Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, and Glacier National Parks. During this adventure, I decided that I really wanted to share my life-long passion for cycle-touring as a Tour Leader.
In preparation for my new reincarnation, I have recently completed the Adventure Cycling Leadership Training Course, the NOLS Wilderness Outdoor Medicine course, refreshed my CPR certification and have taken the United Bicycle Institute Bicycle Mechanics course.
